Eros is depicted as a chubby child. He wears an ivy wreath and possibly holds a tuning hammer or plectrum in the right hand, while in the left one he would have held a guitar or a lyre. The inlaid eyes are of glass paste. Probably intended for the decoration of banquet rooms of a Roman villa.
