Figurines of various deities, especially Zeus, were precious votive offerings at the Sanctuary of Olympia. In the earliest of them, Zeus is rendered with extended or upraised arms, declaring his divine appearance(epiphany). The torso is short and the main parts of the body are elongated and outstretched in space.
