The god Dionysus is accompanied by his troop of satyrs and maenads, in ecstatic dance. Its symbol, the thyrsos, predominates the representation, declaring the omnipotence of the god, who drives into sacred frenzy whoever does not surrender to him. Animals declare the primordial connection of the god of the vine with Nature.
